Coastal Facade
Protected from Day One
A newly built store facade in a coastal environment was treated with ZYTERRA immediately after construction. The two photographs show different views of the completed facade, not before and after conditions.
The Problem
- The new facade would face constant humidity, sea spray and salt loading.
- Water and salt penetration could lead to efflorescence and deterioration over time.
- Protection was required from the beginning rather than after damage appeared.
The ZYTERRA Treatment
- The facade was treated with the ZYTERRA mineral system.
- The material penetrated the substrate and formed a mineral SiO₂ structure inside it.
- The treatment was completed when the building was new to reduce future water and salt ingress.
The Result
- The new facade received preventive protection from the start.
- The mineral treatment became part of the substrate rather than forming an external film.
- The appearance and breathable character of the facade were retained.
